Overlapping and sewing together the material (usually

Joining & Taping - 36200T subclass:
Aligning two pieces of material and then laying another
piece of material (usually a tape) over the seam and then
sewing together.

Multipurpose for Lapseaming & Flatseaming - 36200U subclass: Dual purpose machines supplied with two
presser feet, to perform two separate operations when
the presser foot is changed.

Lapseaming: Overlapping and sewing together the
material to form a strong and elastic seam.

Flatseaming: Butting and sewing together the material.
