STITCHOLOGY

The STITCHOLOGY program, which is offered by the JUKI & UNION SPECIAL Technical Training Center, is a very important communication tool for management. It is a vital program that will improve intercommunications between management and plant personnel. Many companies have realized that the more they can improve their communications, the more efficient and profitable their plants will be.

The one week STITCHOLOGY course is a general survey of the major stitch types, their formation and application. It is recommended for anyone in the industry who wishes to increase their skill in identifying, applying, and evaluating stitches, seams and stitchings. This program offers a conversational knowledge of sewing machine equipment no matter who manufactures the equipment. The theory on how stitches are formed and the components that aid them, can be applied to all similar equipment producing the same stitch type.

Training aides such as films, slides, stitch boards, and actual hands-on the sewing machine heads are used throughout the one week program. Students are also supplies with text books which include some of the major stitch formation books and other important information that they will find very beneficial upon returning to their positions.

The course is designed to teach students some of the minor adjustments of the sewing components and to actually sew-off each of the major machine styles. It is very rewarding for students who have never touched a sewing machine before, to work on them and make them function properly.

Another important fact is, that all the information used in the STITCHOLOGY program on stitches, seams and stitches, is obtained from the Government Standard Book 751a and ASTM Publication D6193. These are popular, technical books and are used by many manufacturers throughout the world as a means to better communicate with each other. They are very valuable tools to use because everyone is communicating in the same language.

Those who have already attended the program, which include: industrial engineers, production managers, plant supervisors, quality control personnel, educators, suppliers, executives, etc., have recognized the importance of STITCHOLOGY in their everyday job responsibilities
