JOB OPENING:

Job Title: Maintenance/CNC Repair/General Building Repair

Department: Maintenance

Classification: Full Time

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of CNC programming codes for troubleshooting machine tool problems
  • Understanding of Fanuc machine controls
  • Read electrical schematics
  • Read and interpret blue prints
  • Rig and install CNC and other machines
  • Read precision measuring instruments such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Volt Meters, etc.
  • Knowledge of 120 volt and 208/460 volt three phase
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Understanding of plumbing and general day-to-day building repairs

Skill Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Electronics Trade School Graduate – Preferred.
  • Trouble Shooting of Electronic Circuitry
  • Organized and Detailed Oriented

Job Title: Precision Surface Grinder

Department: G                 Grade: Based on experience             Class: Hourly

Classification: Full Time-First Shift

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and precision surface grind close tolerance parts.
  • Check and hold tolerances per drawings.

Skill Requirements:

  • Precision surface grinding to close tolerances
  • Knowledge of automatic feed surface grinders
  • Knowledge of gauging equipment for checking close tolerances.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints metric and decimals.
  • Ability to use hand tools for set up.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in grinding coolants, cleaning fluids and anti-rust oil.

 Job Title: Assembler

Department: Final Product

Classification: Full time hourly / First shift

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Build subassemblies and assemblies.
  • Fit parts to very close tolerances and operating requirements, involving use of small hand and power tools.
  • Accurately align assemblies to unit.
  • Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical equipment
  • Make operating tests and adjustments.

Skill Requirements:

  • Mechanically skilled with small hand & power tools required.
  • Close tolerance uniform settings and adjustments required.
  • Must be able to work standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Available to work overtime when needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints a plus.

 Job Title: Set-up and operate CNC Turning centers with live tooling.

Department:  S

Grade: Based on experience            

Classification: Hourly – Full Time 1st shift.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Have knowledge of tooling required to perform a variety of close tolerance operations using drills, reamers, end mills and boring tools.
  • Set up tooling for various close tolerance turning operations
  • Prove out set-ups.
  • Inspect machined parts to ensure job specifications and tolerances are maintained.
  • Monitor machine operations and have capability to make changes to program and/or tool offsets as needed.

Union Special is one of the world’s oldest and finest industrial sewing machine brands.  The company was formed 135 years ago in 1881 in Chicago, Illinois.  Union Special’s sewing machines are used throughout the world in a wide range of applications including apparel and mattress production, bag closing, carpet, upholstery and geotextile.  Throughout its history, Union Special has been at the forefront of the sewing industry in development of new stitches, sewing automation and improved machine performance.

We need an energetic, experienced Technical Trainer/Sewing Machine Mechanic to help us support and assist our customers on our product lines.  The Technical Trainer/Sewing Machine Mechanic will be responsible for all technical matters, including but not limited to, machine and sewing solutions, installation, training, after sale service and support, and machine repair.

 Responsibility

Training

  • Provide training for customers on chainstitch, lockstitch and other sewing machines
  • Answer customer technical questions;
  • Provide tailored solutions for each customer

Sewing Machine Mechanic

  • Ability to build, troubleshoot and repair a variety of industrial sewing machines

Qualifications:

  • High level of knowledge of industrial sewing machines
  • Manufacturing/R&D background a plus
  • Excellent working ethics and attitude;
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills;
  • Excellent direct customer interaction skills a plus;
  • 30% or more travel required;
  • Competent in the use of Windows based applications;
  • Self motivated and independent;
  • Fluent in Spanish a plus
