We need an energetic, experienced Technical Service person to help us support and assist our customers on our product lines.  The Technical Service person will be responsible for all technical matters, including but not limited to, machine and sewing solutions, installation, training, after sale service and support, and machine repair.

 Responsibility

  • Provide technical support to end users via in person and/or phone support
  • Installation of Union Special equipment at the customer location
  • Provide training to the customer during installations and service calls
  • Provide tailored solutions for each customer

Qualifications:

  • High level of knowledge of industrial sewing machines
  • Electronic and motor knowledge a plus
  • Manufacturing/R&D background a plus
  • Excellent working ethics and attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
  • Excellent direct customer interaction skills a plus
  • 30% or more travel required

JOB OPENING:

 Job Title: Supervisor of Bed, Paint, Tumbling and Saws

Classification: Full time hourly / First Shift

Will train qualified individual over the next several months and beyond to become Supervisor over the above areas.

The position is a leadership and hands-on role which includes supervising and coordinating the production of bed manufacturing on two shifts, bed inspection, bed finishing and paint, the tumbling and P-1 finish of production parts, and the saw area responsible for cutting up bulk material to usable sizes for production.

Qualifications

  • Good history of getting along well with others.
  • Lead others on a two shift operation.
  • Work overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to start earlier when necessary to communicate with third shift employees.
  • Strong background in CNC machine set up and operation and/or ability to learn.
  • Run or learn the operation of the validator for bed inspection checks.
  • Ability to use or learn how to use the Vantage system and PC for time and attendance and to coordinate and meet production due dates.
  • Run or learn how to run the stacker.
  • Understanding of and/or the ability to learn the paint process including preparation for paint, bed finishing prior to paint, the paint application and curing process, and finishing after paint including reaming, silk screen, etc.
  • Understanding of or capability to learn the process of sandblast, tumbling, and P-1 black finish.
  • Understanding of or the capability to learn the operation of the 5 stage washer.
  • Work directly with purchasing and casting suppliers on casting quality problems.
  • Work directly with assembly on bed and paint quality problems.
  • Work directly with maintenance and outside service technicians on equipment issues.
  • Work with R&D and engineering to implement/resolve problems and changes.
  • Ability to lead by example and insure employees follow all company policies.
